Antony Morato: 15 years on the crest of the wave

During Pitti Uomo 102, held last June, the Odeon cinema in Florence hosted the 15th anniversary of Antony Morato.

The brand, for the 102nd edition of the event, has chosen to reinterpret iconic garments from the ‘Timeless’ universe, which has always been one of the strengths of its collections. The essentials of the men’s wardrobe tell the evolution of the brand: from classic colors to contemporary trends with the use of pastel colors, such as lemon yellow and blue, and bright tones such as bluish and orange. There is no shortage of cotton and linen fabric proposals in the most classic tones and natural colors (colonial, off-white, military green).

The new collection spring summer 2023 is inspired by four cities that symbolically represent the urban and cosmopolitan aspiration of the brand: Las Vegas, Sydney, Dubai and Detroit. All of them began their rise in the 80s and 90s, the height of pop culture, and are interpreted in the collection as four lifestyles, evocative of the urban magnetism of the great international megacities with their cultural suggestions. There is no shortage of references to the sometimes exotic charm of nature, repeated in the shapes and colors of lively pop prints and floral motifs.

The 80 years they’re alluded to in the bright colors, tongue-in-cheek prints and slightly cheeky attitude that takes you back in time; while the military constructions, the minimalism of the lines and the soft volumes are a tribute to the street fashion style of the following decade. To further strengthen the link between the brand and pop culture, three new capsule collections are born, closely related and inspired by the 80s and 90s: Back to the future, Pacman and Mickey Mouse.

For ‘Back to the futuret was one of director Steven Spielberg’s most iconic films, inspiring the capsule, the film’s logo t-shirt and the unforgettable De Lorean. The Pacman Collection is a small collection to remember one of the most iconic video games of all time, Pacman. The labyrinth screen and the colored ghosts immerse you in the dreamlike and iconic universe of the first arcades between synthetic sounds, metal tokens and joysticks. The Mickey Mouse capsule collection instead consists of two t-shirts and a sweatshirt, created for the centenary of Mickey Mouse.

The manager also communicates two new openings, the first via del Corso in Rome and the second in South America. After the Colombian opening in Bogotà, which took place in the first half, the brand will arrive in Medellín in October.
